“Innovation Credit Union Sponsors 24th Annual Tournament”
North Battleford, SK – Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation is honoured to once again have Innovation Credit Union as the Master sponsor of the Wayne Pruden Memorial Golf Tournament (WPMGT). Since the beginning, Innovation Credit Union has been the Master sponsor of the Tournament, now in its 24th year, and has helped to raise over $500,000 for healthcare in The Battlefords. In the new, virtual format for 2020, the Master sponsorship also “golfs” the first two holes of the Tournament, providing a great start to the fundraising.

While it is a change of format, we encourage everyone to continue to support this event as they have in the past to ensure the BUH Foundation may continue supporting healthcare and making a difference in our community's medical care," shares Tim Sletten, Chief Wealth Officer, Innovation Credit Union.
The virtual WPMGT will take place from Friday, May 15th to Friday, June 12th online at buhfoundation.com and BUH Foundation’s Facebook page, @BUHFoundation, as participants are invited to virtually walk the course together and help raise funds for new medical equipment at BUH. Through support of the sponsors, golfer registration donations and other donations, $3,000/hole will be raised. Once this goal for each hole has been reached, supporters will move to the next hole and so forth until all 18 holes are completed and new medical equipment is purchased for BUH. Everyone is encouraged to follow along online and check the status and progression of the virtual Golf Tournament as the course is walked together while staying apart.

The 24th WPMGT changed formats to abide by the current public health measures and to ensure the health and safety of the golfers and volunteers. BUH Foundation Board of Directors and WPMGT Committee members are excited to host the Tournament virtually and still continue the legacy and tradition of honouring Wayne Pruden while supporting healthcare. About Wayne Pruden Memorial Golf Tournament:
The Wayne Pruden Memorial Golf Tournament (WPMGT) began in 1997 and is a one day memorial golf tournament dedicated to the life of Wayne (Chico) Pruden. The WPMGT is the most successful charity golf tournament in The Battlefords, with maximum sell-out of 216 golfers and over $500,000 raised in its 23 year history. It is held at North Battleford Golf & Country Club the first Monday in June every year and is an opportunity to continue Wayne Pruden's commitment to his community. Funds raised enrich patient care at Battlefords Union Hospital & Battlefords Region Home Care.
