Wayne Pruden Memorial Golf Tournament
What is the Wayne Pruden Memorial Golf Tournament?
The Wayne Pruden Memorial Golf Tournament (WPMGT) is a one day memorial golf tournament dedicated to the life of Wayne (Chico) Pruden.
It is the most successful charity golf tournament in The Battlefords with maximum sell-out of 216 golfers and over $660,000 raised in its 27 year history.
It is a day of fun with friends, good food, drinks and sun, while enjoying a round of golf at the North Battleford Golf & Country Club.
Most importantly, the WPMGT is an opportunity to continue Wayne Pruden's commitment to his community as we work to enrich patient care at Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) & Battlefords Region Home Care (BRHC).
Who was Wayne Pruden?
Wayne Pruden was a community architect. He loved North Battleford and poured in countless hours of time and effort towards the image and improvement of his community. His legacy lives on through the playground at Notre Dame School and through the beautiful North Battleford Golf & Country Club.
Wayne never worked to be recognized or praised. That was not his nature. Gratification for Wayne came from the love he felt for his family, the camaraderie he felt among friends, and in the knowing that North Battleford is a better place because of his actions.
"All of us gathered here today, helping our community, is a reflection of what my father was about. He would be proud of everyone giving back to the community and having a good time doing it, because, if you knew my Dad, he had a good time at whatever he did." |
