Proceeds from the 2019 $100,000 Cash Lottery will support the purchase of a new ultrasound unit for BUH’s Emergency Room (ER).  Every year the ER has over 25,000 patient arrivals and many of these are trauma related.  An ultrasound provides ER physicians with fast, accurate and lifesaving diagnostics.  It is a critical component to ER care and can save lives.  Funds raised will also purchase three new patient beds for the ICU at BUH.  Every year there are approximately 200 admissions into ICU and we want to provide the best in comfort and care for them.

“We are pleased to be able to support the purchase of the new equipment for ER and ICU.  This is important equipment that will help save lives and provide the level of care that we all want for our loved ones.  We are grateful for everyone who supports the $100,000 Cash Lottery every year, whether they win a cash prize or not.  We all win when new equipment is purchased to enrich healthcare,” expressed McGuire.

As BUH Foundation wraps up another year of $100,000 Cash Lottery, the focus changes to the Christmas season and celebrating the 24th Annual Festival of Trees at Western Development Museum.  Watch for more details on this event as funds are raised for new equipment for Respiratory Therapies at BUH.
