On Wednesday morning, October 24^th, Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Admitting staff were busy, quietly doing their various duties.  Their calm demeanor changed suddenly when they heard that their group ticket had just been drawn and they had won the $20,000 Anniversary Draw!  “You know, the Admitting staff have been buying these ticket for many years, mainly because we see the good the Foundation does for the hospital and we want to support them….this win is a bonus for us!  Thank you so much,” exclaimed Jacqueline Reynolds during the cheque presentation.  “You are welcome Jacqueline and everyone else and we thank you!”    

The new feature to the Lottery, the 50/50 Enhancement, available with your Lottery ticket, is also proving very successful.  As of October 22^nd the winning amount is over $47,000 and this amount will only climb as we are only 89% sold out.

The next ticket sale cut off date is Friday, November 9th at 5 pm for $100,000 plus twenty $2,000 draws.  Tickets are still available and BUH Foundation is hopeful that you can help us make this a sell-out.  It is very much appreciated.

Tickets are the same as in previous years at $40.00 each or three for $100.00, with only 14,000 available.  The 50/50 Enhancements are available for one for $10.00 or three for $25.00 and can only be purchased in conjunction with the $100,000.00 Cash Lottery ticket(s).  They can be purchased at BUH Foundation’s Office, BUH Foundation’s Canteen/Gift Shop, and in the main lobby of BUH.  Tickets can also be purchased by calling (306) 446 6652 or toll-free 1 888 946 4284 (1 888 WIN 4BUH).  All winners names will be published in the Battlefords News-Optimist, announced on CJNB/Q98/The Rock and CJNS radio stations and posted on BUH Foundation’s website, www.buhfoundation.com. 

Proceeds from this year’s Lottery will be used to purchase medical equipment for the ER, Women’s Health & Birthing Centre and the Medical Floor.  This includes an innovative, safe method of dispensing specific medication for patients, new epidural pumps used to assist the mother during labour and delivery, a vein viewer that aids in prompt intravenous insertions, as well as a scanner to diagnose certain bladder disorders and conditions.
