BUH Foundation 24/25 Monthly Lottery Kicks Off

Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation’s 2024/2025 Monthly Lottery launches Thursday, February 15th, 2024. This is BUH Foundation’s longest running lottery and gives away a total of $50,000 in cash plus a 50/50 jackpot.

There are only 1300 tickets to be sold with 13 draws made every month for a total of $4,000 in prizes each month for 12 months. The top prize is $1,000, second prize $600, third prize $400 and ten additional prizes of $200 each. The 50/50 jackpot has grown every year and last year gave away $16,235.

Proceeds from the 2024/2025 Monthly Lottery will purchase a new bedside Ultrasound Machine for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at BUH. This device is a valuable tool for physicians working in critical care environments to obtain immediate clinical information, improve patient safety, increase efficiency and decrease complications. It provides point of care diagnosis capability at the bedside and has the ability to perform procedures that are ultrasound guided. The Ultrasound Machine is a new piece of equipment for the ICU and has a projected cost of $64,756.

Last years’ Monthly Lottery proceeds purchased an additional hysteroscope for use in women’s surgery in the Operating Room at BUH. The scopes allow gynecologists to both see and remove unhealthy tissue, all in one step, helping to ensure a faster, more comfortable and safer surgical procedure. The additional scopes can allow for increased number of surgical procedures to be performed within The Battlefords.

Thank you to everyone who has supported BUH Foundation’s Monthly Lottery and helped to enrich patient care within The Battlefords. Tickets for 2024/2025 remain at $110 each for the year with 50/50 enhancements only $10 each after the purchase of a main lottery ticket.
