50/50 Add-On Component with the 17th BUH Foundation's $100,000 Cash Lottery

August 9th 2011

Volunteers with BUH Foundation were busy last week preparing for the upcoming $100,000 Cash Lottery.  Ticket selling will start on Friday, August 19, 2011.

There is also a new feature to the Lottery with the addition of the 50/50 Add-Ons. Jerry Wintonyk, Chair of BUH Foundation’s Board of Directors noted, “We are very excited about this new component to the Lottery.  Other charitable organizations in the province have found this to be an excellent supplementary fundraiser, for example the recent Kinsmen Home Lottery 50/50 Add-On sold well over $300,000 in tickets.  We are confident that this fundraiser will continue to be successful for the Foundation and ultimately local healthcare.”

Tickets will remain the same as in previous years at $40.00 each or three for $100.00, with only 14,000 available.  They can be purchased at BUH Foundation Office, BUH Foundation’s Canteen/Gift Shop, and in the main lobby of BUH.  Tickets can also be purchased by calling (306) 446 6652 or toll-free 1-888-946-4284 (1-888-WIN-4BUH).  All winners names will be published in the News-Optimist, announced on CJNB/Q98/The Rock and CJNS radio stations as well as posted on BUH Foundation’s website at www.buhfoundation.com.

The 50/50 Add-On tickets are available for 10 tickets for $10.00 and can only be purchased in conjunction with the purchase of the $100,000 Cash Lottery

ticket(s).  50/50 Add-On orders will not be accepted after your Lottery ticket purchase date.  The minimum payout for the $100,000 Cash Lottery 50/50 Add-On is $10,000.

The $100,000 Cash Lottery is BUH Foundation’s largest fundraiser and proceeds have been allocated to purchase equipment for the Physical and Respiratory Therapy departments as well as the Laboratory department.  Purchase of lottery tickets will help in the purchase of a new Pulmonary Function System for the Respiratory department which is presently only available in Edmonton or Saskatoon and means that patients requiring specific pulmonary procedures and tests will now not have to travel to a medical facility outside The Battlefords.  Over 950,000 tests and procedures were done at BUH’s Lab last year and the new equipment being purchased is vital for this busy, dedicated department.  We all benefit from quality healthcare and to family and friends this means modern, efficient treatment close to home.
